Description:

There is nothing much better than spending a rainy day in a huge gorgeous museum. The Museum of Anthropology yields a stunning collection of artifacts, art pieces and textiles with a Global focus. A lot of their permanent exhibitions are concentrated on West Coast history. Various First Nations artists like Bill Reid have permanent pieces there, with the most famous piece being “The Raven and The First Men” that was featured on the Canadian $20 dollar bill from 2004-12. They also have an outdoor collection of Totem Poles and Long Houses. A huge collection of objects from the South Pacific takes the visitor on a journey to warmer climates, and it is stunning to see the similarities of human creation from all over the globe. The building itself is an architectural beauty as well, with massive views from the glass wall overlooking Point Grey.
