VANCOUVER’S MOST BEAUTIFUL TIME OF YEAR

Take a self-guided bike tour in Vancouver through cherry blossom lined streets with our free map. Cycle through downtown, Yaletown, and along the seawall before grabbing some food on Main Street on the way to Queen Elizabeth Park for a “hanami” (picnic under the cherry blossoms). View several different varietals of beautiful blossoms, each clearly marked on the map. Take an optional stop at VanDusen Garden to view the blossoms on full display, then ride down Arbutus into downtown. Electric bikes are recommended as a good portion of the ride is uphill; we offer e-bikes on our rental page. Created by team member Alexander Wang.

Blossoms Along the Seawall
Cycle through Yaletown, False Creek, and Olympic Village with views of the water and beautiful Akebono and Kanzan cherry blossoms.

Picnic Under the Trees
If you like, grab some food and bevvies along Main Street for a “Hanami”, a Japanese tradition of picnicking under cherry blossom trees.

After you’re fueled up, head to VanDusen Botanical Garden and down Arbutus for a plethora of different varietals of gorgeous cherry trees.

Tour Itinerary

Start from our shop, where you can rent an electric bike if you need one. Don’t forget your picnic blanket if you plan to stop for a picnic! You’ll ride down to Vancouver’s scenic seawall, where cherry blossoms can be seen in David Lam Park, along the Yaletown section of the seawall, and between near Stamps Landing just past Olympic Village. 

Head up Heather Street where you can view several different species of cherry blossoms, and take an optional pit stop along Main Street between 12th & 19th, where there are many great eateries to choose from. Take your food to go and head up to nearby Queen Elizabeth Park, where you can take your pick of impressive trees to picnic under. 

After you’re fueled up, cycle up to VanDusen Botanical Garden for a visit to during one of its most beautiful seasons. Take a leisurely stroll through the gardens to take in all the cherry blossoms. If you prefer to keep cycling, you can skip the the garden and head down to Arbutus, where you’ll find several blocks lined with impressive blossoms. As you reach the bottom of Arbutus, you’ll head across Burrard Bridge and back into downtown. This self-guided bike tour is a wonderful way to spend a day and take advantage of the short cherry blossom season in Vancouver.
