Sunset Bike Tour

Explore Vancouver at Sunset

This bike tour highlights the best of Vancouver at a beautiful time of day.  Highlights include Stanley Park, English Bay, False Creek,  light installations, Granville Street neon signs, and a delicious gelato stop!  Optional electric-assist bikes are available for booking.

Sunset Bike Tour Itinerary

DOWNTOWN VANCOUVER

We’ll start our tour at our bike shop located in the heart of Downtown Vancouver. From there, we’ll ride through the Coal Harbour neighbourhood, passing by the Vancouver Convention Centre, and continue along the world-famous Vancouver Seawall.

STANLEY PARK

Our guides will weave you down the pristine forest trails that criss-cross through the park. We’ll stop periodically for storytelling, question answering, and to catch all the best photo opportunities.

ENGLISH BAY & FALSE CREEK

As the sun gets low on the horizon we’ll make our way through English Bay and on to False Creek. We’ll stop for some delicious gelato as the sun sets over the water, and we’ll watch as the city skyline illuminates before our eyes.

RETURN TO SHOP

As night falls we’ll ride back up into downtown as the lights on BC Place Stadium and Science World start to glimmer.

One of our Vancouver trip highlights Loved the biking route, which covered the entire seawall. Despite the length, it didn't feel tiring at all because there was plenty of moments to rest and take photos. Keeley was very knowledgeable and answered all our questions.

Vancouver sunset bike tour - with e-bikes. Utterly brilliant! It may seem like a lot of money up front when you are sat in your armchair at home - but it is totally worth it in terms of seeing large parts of Vancouver with ease. (We opted to pay for e-bikes as my wife "does not do bikes" and even she thought it was easy). It really helps to get your bearings and enables you to decide what to spend more time on visiting etc. so you don't waste precious time. I recommend doing this trip early on in your trip. The sunset bit seems incidental but it does add an extra dimension and for us meant that we did not have to venture out in the blazing heat and for photographers means that the light might be preferable. Marion was our guide and was very knowledgeable and attentive. We really thought that we had achieved something by the end of the tour thanks to Marion (and I don't mean that the bike riding was difficult - far from it!) Both my 18 year old and my 21 year old thought it was the best part of the holiday and even my wife has had to reconsider her view of cycling. Well done Marion - well done Cycle City Tours!

Bike Tour FAQs

Do I have to book a rental in advance?2023-01-27T02:53:26+00:00

We recommend booking Guided Tours in advance as they often sell out. Rentals are almost always available for walk-ins.

Should I tip my guide?2023-01-27T02:48:05+00:00

While not mandatory, tipping is appropriate and our guides certainly appreciate it for a job well done! As in other service-based industries, tipping encourages the outstanding service that our guides continue to provide. Please consider this when planning your monetary needs on the tour.

What time should I arrive for the tour? What if I’m late?2023-01-27T02:47:44+00:00

Please arrive no less than 15 minutes in advance of your tour departure so that you have time to sign a waiver form and be fitted for bike and helmet.

Tours start promptly at the time stated. We cannot wait for late guests as this affects the experience of other riders. If you are late, please try calling as we may be able to help you catch up to the group.

Where do the tours start and end?2023-01-27T02:47:24+00:00

All tours depart from and return to our shop at 648 Hornby Street.

Do I have to book a tour in advance?2023-01-27T02:47:00+00:00

Yes, please book in advance as space is limited. You can book your desired tour and departure time on our bookings page. If you’d like to join a tour departing in the next 24 hours, please contact us directly to see if we can find you a place.

What if it rains?2023-03-01T23:41:54+00:00

Our city is located in a Temperate Coastal Rainforest climate, so it does rain here regularly. As Vancouverites, we don’t let “liquid sunshine” keep us from riding and our tours depart rain or shine. You can still have an amazing tour if dressed for the weather, and we provide light ponchos for your use.

Our 24 Hour cancellation policy allows you to cancel the day before if the forecast looks bad.  Tour guests can now also pay an additional 7% fee to extend the cancellation policy to 1 Hr before departure for those that prefer to make a last minute decision.

Please Note: June, July, August and September are typically the driest months of the year, but it is wise to bring along an extra layer just in case the forecast indicates a chance of rain (local forecast).

What is your cancellation policy?2023-03-01T06:40:35+00:00

You can cancel your booking for a full refund with minimum 24 hours notice before your departure time. Due to limited space on our public tours, no refund is possible within 24 hours of tour departure.

Please Note: We may be able to reschedule your booking if unforeseen circumstances arise. This is based on tour availability.
